Lip Augmentation is a treatment when the lips are enhanced using dermal fillers. The lip region is a key feature when it comes to facial aesthetic enhancement and is one of the highlighted facial features to reflect the attractiveness in a woman's or a man’s face. The goal of a lip augmentation is to balance facial proportions via more fullness in the lips.
With the rise of social media, lip fillers have become a more popular treatment. Although lip fillers are a common treatment, it requires expertise and a great aesthetic eye to achieve optimal and natural-looking results. Seeking an aesthetic injector that will be able to evaluate your lips in relation to the whole face is key to providing great results.
Lip Augmentation can be a great treatment for people of all ages
Please consult with our provider to see how lip fillers can enhance your lips and help you go from #prettytoprettier.
The term “duck lips” refer to patients who have overfilled lips via over-injection of filler. It is important for the provider to assess the patients’ lips in proportion to the rest of the face and in some instances, the patient may not be a good candidate for a lip augmentation.
However, if you are new to lip fillers, you do not have to be afraid of getting “duck lips” after the first treatment. In fact, your first lip augmentation will give you beautiful and natural-looking lips. You and your aesthetic injector should create an aesthetic plan together to see how often you will need to maintain the lips.
After lip injections, the lips will be the most swollen for the first 3 days. During the first 3 days, we ask patients to avoid any straws, kissing, spoons, or puckering motions to prevent discomfort in the lips. It is normal to experience bruises, slight soreness, dryness, and swelling in the lips. Please keep in mind that the level of bruising and swelling can differ from patient to patient. The lips may take up to a full 4 weeks to fully heal and for all swelling to reside.
Lip fillers can last from six months to two years. The longevity of lip fillers depends on how much filler was injected, the patient’s metabolism to filler, and filler type.
